Mack Molding, a full-service contract manufacturer located in Vermont, has a practical approach to building sustainability with their packaging operations. They were so proud of it, they decided to make a video. The video is very good, and you can see it here.
You may not have known, but corrugated is used to ship 90% of all products in the U.S.
Corrugated is the most recycled packaging material on Earth, with a recovery rate over 78 percent. Recycling corrugated only takes 75% of the energy needed to manufacture new and lessens the emission of sulfur dioxide that is produced when making pulp from wood trees.
So just using corrugated in the first place is a very good start to becoming a green manufacturer.
